Baby Shower Alternatives

Baby showers are a great way to celebrate the upcoming bundle of joy. However, not all moms-to-be look forward to their shower. Some of them don’t want to be the center of the attention, others are worried about their friends’ financial situation. Perhaps they have everything they need for the baby. If you are one of those moms, here are some baby shower alternatives you will enjoy.

Baby Shower Alternatives

Book shower

Perhaps you already have most of the baby essentials. Or you prefer to shop for big items by yourself. Why not throw a book shower? Ask your guests to bring you a book for the baby instead of the traditional gift or a card. Is there a better way to stock your baby’s library?

Diaper shower

If you’re having a baby number 2, you probably already have most of the baby items you need. Consider requesting a diaper shower – ask the guests to bring you only diapers and wipes. You can also make a diaper raffle and give a prize to one of your guests.

Co-ed shower

If you want to celebrate the upcoming baby, but don’t want to be the center of the attention all afternoon, consider throwing a co-ed shower. This way, your partner will be next to you, offering the support and helping with the gift opening.

Baby sprinkle

Baby sprinkle is a popular choice for celebrating the baby number 2. It’s a low-key gathering, the atmosphere is laid-back, not as formal as the traditional baby shower. Only the closest friends and family members are invited.

Sip and see

Sometimes having a baby shower prior to the baby’s birth won’t work. Sip and see is a very casual event which takes place a few weeks after the baby is born. Your friends can come by your house to see the baby. This will also cut down on the unexpected guests in the first few weeks of baby’s life.
