Bridal Shower Planning Timeline
Bridal shower is a pre-wedding celebration that honors the bride-to-be. Although it’s a more laid-back event than a wedding, planning of the bridal shower can be an intimidating task, with various details to arrange. Here’s a bridal shower planning timeline.

- Pick a theme. A theme will add a personal touch to the shower. It will also tie the food and decor together. Theme can be something simple, like tea or garden party. Make sure to choose a theme that is related to the bride-to-be.
- Make the guest list. Ask the bride for help – bridal shower is the event for her friends and close family members, so let her decide who should be invited.
- Choose the location. Bridal showers can be relaxed or formal. They can be held in a backyard or in a 5 star hotel. The venue should comfortably accommodate all of the guests. It should also match the bridal shower theme.
- Be sure that a bride-to-be has a registry. Traditionally, guests should bring gifts to a bridal shower and they usually like to choose from the bridal registry. Registry should be ready to go before you send the invitations.

- Send the invitations. Bridal shower invitations can be electronic or printed. They should reflect the theme of the shower, since they will set the tone for the event. Make sure the invitations have all the important details: date, time, location and registry info.
- Hire vendors. Now it’s time to hire the photographers and caterers. You can also ask family and friends to help, instead of hiring professional staff. Confirm who wants to help and what roles will they play.
- Purchase decorations. Don’t go crazy with every idea you see on Pinterest – buy just a few key items.

- Confirm vendors and finalize details. Now’s the time to check if the contracts have been signed with venue and vendors. Also, check if the menu has been chosen and are all of the logistical details set.
- Choose games. Games are a fun part of every bridal shower. They will break the ice and encourage the guests to mingle.

- Confirm who is coming. Check with guests who haven’t RSVP’d and finalize the number of guests. After that, you can start planning the seating chart.
- Finalize decorations. Make sure that all decor has arrived and that you have everything you need to make the bridal shower venue beautiful.
- Make the playlist. Playlist should set the tone for the party. Make sure you include bride’s favorite artists and songs.
1 week before
- Make a checklist of to-dos. Delegate to friends and family members who are willing to help.

- Clean and cook. If the shower is at someone’s house, make sure everything is clean and ready for guests. Prep the food you are making. If other people are making food, check to see if they need anything.
- Decorate the space. If you can access the venue a day before the shower, decorate early. If you can’t decorate the space early, make sure to have enough time to do it on the morning of the shower.
- Consult the checklist. It’s easy to forget important tasks. Check things off the list to make sure you have completed all of the tasks.
